The professional development program is an excellent learning opportunity for financial management professionals. This year's PDI offers more than 80 workshops in the areas of Budget, Financial Management, Acquisition, Current Issues, Professional Development, and Information Technology.

General Sessions
The general sessions of the PDI feature a speaker, awards presentations, and an opportunity to network with fellow attendees. The general session speaker lineup for PDI 2010 is:

John R. Quetsch Memorial Lecture
The ASMC has instituted a lecture series designated the "John R Quetsch Memorial Lecture Series." John R. "Jack" Quetsch served as Principle Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense Comptroller, National President of the ASMC, and member of the Board of Directors and Chief Financial Officer of Pentagon Federal Credit Union (PFCU). He was an efficient and effective manager who made a lasting contribution to the federal government, the credit union movement and the ASMC. Moreover, he was a gracious gentleman who was greatly respected by all who knew him. The PDI 2010 Quetsch Lecture speaker will be General Stephen Lorenz, Commander, Air Education and Training Command, USAF.
Service Day Information
June 2 is Service Day at the PDI, when each service breaks in to sessions that are specific to that service or agency. Service representatives will provide agendas on site at the service general session on June 2.

Breakout Workshops
In addition to General Sessions throughout the week and service specific workshops on Wednesday, more than 80 workshops will be offered on Thursday and Friday. Chapter Training
Chapter Informational Roundtables will be conducted Wednesday and Thursday morning at 0700. National representatives will moderate open discussion on various chapter development topics. Potential session topics include Membership, Awards, Strategic Planning, Fundraising, Community Service, and Legal Issues. A final schedule of these sessions will be printed in the on-site program brochure.
NASBA Statement
ASMC is registered with the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) as a sponsor of continuing professional education on the National Registry of CPE Sponsors. State boards of accountancy have the final authority on the acceptance of individual courses for CPE credit. Become a Volunteer at PDI 2010!
Ever wonder what it would be like to work behind the scenes at a National PDI? Here is your chance! We will be taking applications for volunteers to serve as Assistant Instructors (AIs) at PDI 2010. Please note that all AIs must have attended at least one PDI in the past four years. AI responsibilities include:
- Liaison with speaker for workshop and other PDI needs prior to the PDI
- Attend AI training conference call (date TBD) and volunteer training at PDI (Tuesday afternoon)
- Attend morning meeting each day of assignment
- Assist in speaker ready room as needed
- Introduction of speaker(s) at PDI
- Ensure workshop flows smoothly (problem solving, timeliness, chart flipping)
- Follow up with any issues after the PDI
