Understanding the Sequester—Where Do We Go From Here?

On March 1, automatic sequestration cuts took effect for the U.S. federal government. The cuts are evenly split between domestic and defense programs, with half affecting defense discretionary spending (weapons purchases, base operations, construction work, etc.) and the rest affecting both mandatory (Social Security or Medicaid) and discretionary domestic spending. As federal, state and local governmental entities work to enact the budget cuts, many questions remain.
American Society of Military Comptrollers (ASMC) and the Association of Government Accountants (AGA) have partnered to host a complimentary webinar with two key government leaders managing the sequester activities: Robert F. Hale, Under Secretary of Defense (Comptroller) and Chief Financial Officer, U.S. Department of Defense (DoD); and Danny Werfel, Controller, U.S. Office of Management and Budget (OMB). The speakers will address current sequester plans and activities, and will devote time to answer questions about the sequester.

1. The registrant point of contact must email email@example.com with name, estimated number of attendees and confirmed registration number prior to the event.
2. Attendance must be taken at the event and the point of contact must validate that all participants were in attendance for the entirety of the webinar. The attendance roster, in an Excel spreadsheet, must include the columns of first name, last name, member number and email address of all participants.
3. The point of contact must email the attendance roster to Jennifer Sizemore, ASMC National HQ, within 48 hours of the event. Participants will receive an email detailed the CPE awarded from ASMC within 5 business days.
