Understanding the Sequester—Where Do We Go From Here?
March 28 | 1-2:40 p.m. EDT | Members Earn: 2 CPEs | No Fee to Participate
On March 1, automatic sequestration cuts took effect for the U.S. federal government. The cuts are evenly split between domestic and defense programs, with half affecting defense discretionary spending (weapons purchases, base operations, construction work, etc.) and the rest affecting both mandatory (Social Security or Medicaid) and discretionary domestic spending. As federal, state and local governmental entities work to enact the budget cuts, many questions remain.
American Society of Military Comptrollers (ASMC) and the Association of Government Accountants (AGA) have partnered to host a complimentary webinar with two key government leaders managing the sequester activities: Robert F. Hale, Under Secretary of Defense (Comptroller) and Chief Financial Officer, U.S. Department of Defense (DoD); and Danny Werfel, Controller, U.S. Office of Management and Budget (OMB). The speakers will address current sequester plans and activities, and will devote time to answer questions about the sequester.
The recorded version of this session is now available to ASMC members in the ASMC Online Learning Center (located in the More Presentations section) Please note that it is hosted on a Citrix system and may be blocked by DoD facilities.
