FY2012 DoD Authorization Act empowers Secretary of Defense to “prescribe professional certification and credential standards” for financial management community; CDFM certification recognized.
Please read the information below carefully to ensure you purchase the appropriate CDFM examination for your preferred testing method and location.
Only candidates enrolled in the Certified Defense Financial Manager (CDFM) program are eligible to purchase CDFM examinations. If you’re not yet enrolled as a CDFM candidate, click here.
Please note that after you enroll in the CDFM program, you must wait 48-72 hours before you can purchase any CDFM exam(s).
The CDFM examination is available to candidates in both a paper version and through computerized testing.
Prometrics (Commercial) Testing – Purchase this examination if you meet ALL of the following criteria:
- You are located in the United States;
- You want to take the CDFM examination at one of the national Prometrics’ testing centers; and
- Want to take the computerized version of the CDFM examination.
Special Arrangement Testing – Purchase this examination if you meet ALL of the following criteria:
- You want to take the computerized version of the CDFM examination at a Base Education Center in the United States or worldwide;
- You have verified with the Test Control Officer at the Base Education Center that they have the ability to offer CDFM computerized testing; and
- You have verified with the ASMC that the test examiner at the Base Education Center has an authorized Proctor Login ID and Proctor Password to administer the computerized CDFM examination.
Paper Testing – Purchase this examination if you meet ALL of the following criteria:
- You do not want to take a computerized version of the CDFM examination;
- You want to take a paper version of the CDFM examination at a Base Education Center in the United States or worldwide;
- You purchase testing for the CDFM examination at least 30 days prior to your preferred test date; and
- You provide the ASMC with the requested information on the Base Education Center and Test Control Officer (TCO) at the facility where you would like to take the CDFM paper examination.
